The Wednesday Letters

The review for this book may come as a little late because this title has been around for quite a while.

A fan of trashy novels, humourous chic-lits and suspense/thriller fiction, the idea of reading books such as My sister's keeper, The Alchemist, Tuesday with Morris bore me tremendously (not that it's badly written, just not my favourite genre).

The Wednesday Letters written by Jason F. Wright was given to me as a Christmas gift last year. It turned out to be a humble-looking but awesome present for the holiday.

Jack and Laurel have been married for 39 years and their marriage was seen as blissful and perfect to all. Upon their parent's death, Matthew, Samantha and Malcolm came back home to arrange for the funeral and stumbled upon boxes and boxes of love letters their Father has wrote to their Mother each Wednesday of the week, but never sent out. As they begin to open and read the letters, reliving their parent's history and love story, shocking truth of the past was uncovered. Is there really such a thing known as true love or perfect marriage?

The Wednesday letters is a story above love, life, trials and forgiveness. Jason F. Wright's story-telling is simple with no frills but that's where the sincerity and realism of the story comes in too. This was one of the few books that brought tears to my eyes and made me want to start writing my own Wednesday Letters.

The little surprise at the end of the book touched me to no end as well. It's very much worth a read and you may wish to prepare a packet of tissue to standby, just in case.
